Why Winners Are Quitters

Winners Are QuittersWe Americans admire people that do not give up…those that succeed in spite of the odds.

Let’s clear something up right now: despite our planning, skills, budgets, attitudes and egos, some things just don’t work.  Some ventures aren’t worth doing and some just don’t produce profitable results.

The way to find out is through aggressive TESTING.

Testing lets you know what isn’t going to work so you can STOP IT and move on to something else.  It enables you to discover what really works.   Testing enables you to make decisions from positions of STRENGTH.

Quitting something based upon INFORMATION and STRENGTH is what winners do.

It’s a big part of the evolution process vital to business and mankind.

My friend Mike Moran says, “Do it wrong quickly.” Mike is right.

What you should be asking yourself is if you are quitting based upon information and strength, or are you giving up out of intuition and a lack of intestinal fortitude?

Quitting because you aren’t willing to make the efforts or do the things necessary for success is quitting out of WEAKNESS.  It’s tragic when this happens.

However, stopping something because you are on the wrong track or it isn’t working is SMART.  You should quit as soon as you can, and move onto something else that offers victory.

Here’s a Right-On, No Bull Truth I learned the hard way:

Real quitters rarely even get far enough to quit out of positions of strength.  Winners never quit out of positions of weakness.

Smart leaders use numbers and results to judge winning and losing.  They’re constantly testing for optimal results.

That’s the way to get to the heart of the matter.

When you look at correctly structured testing results and data, and set aside your “gut feelings” and hopes that things will get better if you just “tough it out,” you’ll find what really does work.

You’ll take that knowledge with you all the way to the bank.

My friend and past radio show guest Dr. Flint McGlaughlin is a nationally recognized expert concerning on-line marketing testing.  His company, MEC Labs, offers an excellent online learning program about conducting testing experiments to find out what works. I took the course several years ago. Any company would benefit TREMENDOUSLY from this course:
