Social Media Marketing Success Depends On Integration

Posted on: November 14th, 2011 by joe No Comments

Soical MediaIf you want to achieve social media success, it needs to be highly integrated into your business marketing plan.

It cannot stand on its own.

Social Media B2B recently had a great blog post on 7 Awesome Email And B2B Social Media Integrations.  The blog post shows you how email and social media integration can really help your business grow.

Some of the expert social media marketing tips included:

  • Adding social media follow buttons in email marketing messages
  • Using social media to grow your email marketing list
  • Using social media discussion topics for email newsletter postings

It’s a great post that your business has to read.  It’s really something that manufacturers and distributors should share with their channel partners to increase dealer network sales.

However, if you want complete social media marketing success, you shouldn’t limit yourself to just email marketing integration.  Social media should be integrated across the board.

This should include:

  • Your Blog: Like your website, there should be Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media buttons on your blog to connect readers to your social media channels.
  • Traditional Marketing Materials: All print advertisements and pamphlets should make people aware of your social media presence.

Doing all of this helps to improve your company’s visibility with customers.  It also ensures all of your marketing channels are interconnected, so you don’t leave stranded customers on a particular channel.

6 Ways To Leverage Social Media With Your Channel Partners

Posted on: September 19th, 2011 by admin No Comments

If there’s one challenge that your channel partners probably face, it’s how to properly use social media to promote your products and services.

Sure it’s really easy to set up a LinkedIn and Facebook account.  A kid in middle school can set one up.

However, it’s a challenge for most channel partners to interact and influence customers using social media.

Most channel partners take the “Will It Stick” approach.  They spray their customers with all sorts of messaging on social media sites.   They then pray and hope it sticks.  This often confuses and annoys customers.

It’s up to you to supply your channel partners with relevant information they can use to help your business increase sales via social media.

Following these six tips below will help you as well as your channel partners increase sales.

1. Provide Relevant Content: If you want customers to pay attention, you need your channel partners to post relevant content.  If they post things that customers can use, they’re more likely to share it with family and friends.  You’ll be a lot more relevant to customers.

2. Understand Your Audience: Channel partners really have to understand the needs and wants of their customers.  This will help them to provide customers with the content that they need.  You’ll want to be sure to get the right content to the appropriate channel partners at the appropriate time.

3. Don’t Leave It Open Ended: Your conversations on social media should eventually lead back to your website or blog.  Think of social media as a road to your website where customers can learn how your products and services solve their problems.

4. Provide Valuable Information: No one is going to pay attention to your channel partners on Facebook or LinkedIn if they don’t provide valuable information.  It’s up to you to provide your channel partners with relevant information that they can use to communicate with their customers via social media.

5. Provide Customizable Information: Whatever you give to your channel partners, you want to give them the freedom to customize it to the needs of their customers.  Whether it’s a case study or a blog post, give them a little freedom to customize it.

6. Teach Your Channel Partners: Most channel partners are new to social media.  Sure they may know how to set up an account, but they don’t know how to properly use it. They need to know how to effectively use Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to sell more.  It’s your job to teach them how to use it.

At Right On – No Bull Marketing, we specialize in channel partner sales consulting.  We can show you how to increase channel partner sales using a variety of innovative techniques.

Social Media Marketing Misconceptions: Build It And They Will Come – Wrong!

Posted on: September 9th, 2011 by admin No Comments

BaseballHave you seen the movie Field of Dreams?  A guy hearing voices builds a baseball field in the middle of an Iowa cornfield.  Then baseball players, like Shoeless Joe Jackson, start magically appearing at the field.

When it comes to social media marketing, many companies take the Field of Dreams approach.  They set up the Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts.  Then they wait for the customers to magically appear.

This is just one of many common social media marketing misconceptions.

Here are some other popular social media marketing misconceptions that you’ll want to avoid.

  1. Join 50 Social Networks: This is the wrong approach to success.  It’s the quality not the quantity.  Start with one or two social networks and work at building quality relationships with your customers.  Focus on the big ones like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  2.

  3. Social Media is Not Right for My Business: Totally wrong.  If you want a new source of leads and more traffic, social media is the way to go.  Social media will build your brand and strengthen your SEO efforts.  It’s a great way to offer customer support and get customer feedback.
  4.

  5. All You Need is a Profile Page: This is the Field of Dreams approach.  Building the profile page is just the first step.  You must constantly post compelling content and work to get more followers if you want to get more customers.
  6.

  7. I Can’t Measure my ROI – Sure you can, as long as you know what you’re doing.  With analytic tools such as Google Analytics, you can see how many people are visiting your website from Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.
  8.

  9. It Takes Too Much Time & Effort – Do you say this about other parts of your business?  Social media marketing takes discipline and an honest effort.  If you don’t have the time, there are plenty of social media marketing companies that can help you.

At Right On – No Bull Marketing, we have the proven experience to help you with all your social media and business growth needs.

If you’re one of these businesses that is ignoring social media, here are some important reasons social media can quickly and easily grow your business.

1. Quick & Easy  – It doesn’t take long to create a Facebook page or a LinkedIn page.  It’s quick and easy.  In a single day, you can get it all set up.  All you have to do is sign up.

2. It’s Inexpensive – Most of these sites cost nothing to sign up.  There are some costs if you want to advertise on these sites.  However, advertising rates are very affordable, especially when compared to traditional advertising rates.

3. Instant Interaction – As soon as you sign up, you’ll be able to interact with your customers.  You’ll get feedback, comments and reviews from your customers.  To get more people to sign up on your social media pages, be sure to share meaningful content.

4. Helps with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – Nearly all people start their purchases with a search on a search engine such as Google or with an online product review.  Social media helps to improve your company’s search engine ranking, so more people find your products and services.
